Hepatitis B vaccine provides protection against Hepatitis B, a viral infection of the liver, which is spread when one gets in contact with body fluids (blood, saliva, semen, vaginal fluids, sweat) of a person with the disease. The vaccine is given intramuscular (IM) on your arm. You should get a total of 3 doses spaced out at 0, 1 and 6 months from the time you get the first shot.
Eligibility
Get screened for Hepatitis B before vaccination, persons with negative Hepatitis B test results qualify for the vaccine. For those getting a 2nd or 3rd dose, proof of documentation of previous doses is required
